Les utilisateurs de drogue par injection et inhalation en situation d’itinérance à Montréal : ancrages et mobilités différenciés autour de la place Émilie-Gamelin

Abstract
Cet article aborde comment les utilisateurs de drogues par injection ou inhalation en situation d’itinérance (UDIISI) utilisent la place Émilie-Gamelin, un espace public montréalais (Canada). L’objectif est d’explorer comment s’organise la mobilité volontaire ou forcée autour de cet espace en lien avec trois principaux motifs (besoins de base, de consommation et de ressources financières). Cent six entretiens semi-dirigés auprès d’UDIISI fréquentant cet espace ont été menés, couplés à de l’observation participante. Les résultats révèlent quatre catégories d’utilisateurs, traduisant des niveaux d’ancrage différents à cet espace : 1) ceux l’évitant à tout prix, 2) ceux le considérant comme un lieu d’évasion occasionnellement, 3) ceux l’utilisant comme un lieu d’opportunités et 4) ceux le considérant comme leur milieu de vie principal. L’analyse de leurs déplacements démontre aussi de nombreux événements de mobilité forcée, fragilisant potentiellement leur santé.
