Abstract
Si dans Mort d’Oluwémi d’Ajumako, Oluwémi dirige son peuple d’une main d’airain et refuse de jouer au jeu de l’administration politique en place, Dieudonné désire dans Dieu nous l’a donné en découdre avec le système colonial et ses conséquences mais n’arrive pas à joindre son peuple à ses idées révolutionnaires. Ces deux pièces de théâtre de Maryse Condé permettent de toucher non uniquement à deux modes de résistance et de gestion du fait historique colonial mais surtout à une résistance hétérogène au sein des sujets colonisés. Cet article examine les stratégies épistémologiques et socio-discursives employées par les sujets colonisés pour construire leurs identités individuelle et collective ainsi que la possibilité de dépasser, en s’appuyant sur la réflexion théorique de Hamid Dabashi, les tendances à restreindre l’identité postcoloniale à la polarité colonisateur et colonisé.
