After giving a brief overview of the theory of multiple zeta functions, we derive the analytic continuation of the multiple Hurwitz zeta function X 1 ζ(s1,..., sr; x1,..., xr):= (n1 + x1) n1>n2>···>nr≥1 s1 ···(nr + xr) sr using the binomial theorem and Hartogs ’ theorem.
