Bài viết tập trung vào một loại hình tiểu phẩm Phật giáo bằng đất nung trong lịch sử trung đại của Champa, được phát hiện ở vùng núi Chồi (Quảng Ngãi). Bài viết nhấn mạnh rằng Phật giáo không chỉ là tôn giáo được bảo trợ và khuyến khích thực hành riêng trong gia đình hoàng gia và tầng lớp quý tộc như các hiện vật và bia ký ở Đồng Dương. Mà các nhóm dân cư địa phương vùng lân cận có lẽ cũng đã thực hành tôn giáo này thông qua việc tìm thấy hàng loạt các tiểu phẩm có kích thước nhỏ ngay tại lò nung ở núi Chồi. Loại hình đặc trưng của tiểu phẩm Phật giáo núi Chồi gồm 6 vị Phật, trong đó nổi bật là hình Đức Phật ngồi buông thõng chân. Theo nghiên cứu của chúng tôi, những tiểu phẩm này phản ánh tư tưởng Phật giáo Đại thừa. Ngoài ra, các tiểu phẩm có mô típ tương tự cũng đã được tìm thấy ở Thái Lan, Myanmar và Indonesia. Điều này cho thấy các kết nối liên vùng giữa những nơi này dựa trên việc thực hành Phật giáo Đại thừa trong lịch sử khu vực.
