Abstract
L’Association des professeurs laïques des écoles normales catholiques de la province de Québec formule un certain nombre de propositions qui préfigurent les grands choix du rapport Parent : primaire de six ans, secondaire de cinq ans à cheminements multiples, déconcentration géographique des premières années universitaires dans certains collèges et écoles normales, maintien de la confessionnalité mais obligation pour l’État de soutenir des écoles non confessionnelles. L’Association ne propose pas la création d’un ministère de l’Éducation, mais plutôt la mise sur pied d’un « Conseil général de l’éducation » avec comités catholique et protestant et commissions spécialisées, dont les membres seraient choisis avec un souci accru de représentativité.
