Les œuvres littéraires, cinématographiques ou musicales puisent leurs matières dans les milieux sociaux de leurs auteurs. Sous ce rapport, les productions artistiques, de quelque bord qu’elles soient, proposent des contenus dont le sens suit la courbe de l’évolution des groupes communautaires. Si en toile de fond des pages d’un texte littéraire se font entendre souvent en sourdine les préoccupations majeures de l’auteur, les notes musicales, elles, également accompagnent des paroles régulièrement plaintives de l’artiste-compositeur. Dans le répertoire musical de Boubacar Diop dit Bams, la fibre contestataire ou révolutionnaire apparaît aussi bien dans le creuset thématique que dans la mixité de la langue de travail. L’œuvre de cet artiste se prête bien à l’approche transdisciplinaire permettant une mise en relation entre littérature et musique.
