Abstract
Biological diversity (also known as biodiversity): According to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), biological diversity or biodiversity is "the variability among living organisms from all sources including, inter alia, terrestrial, marine and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part; this includes diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems" (CBD, 1992[1]) Biodiversity-related financial risks: Biodiversity-related financial risks (BRFR) are the sources of potential losses for financial actors associated to the deterioration of biodiversity. Such losses include the alteration of portfolios' revenues or balance sheets or the adverse impacts of financial decisions. Building on Mark Carney's initial classification of financial risks posed by climate change, this input has been adapted to address biodiversity. For this reason, BRFR tend to be classified into two types of risks:
