Abstract
Fantasme et fantaisie partagent une même racine étymologique grecque : φαντασία et φάντασμα renvoient tous deux à l’idée d’apparition, d’image présentée à l’esprit. Tour à tour construction imaginaire, vision hallucinatoire, illusion ou rêverie, la fantaisie est aussi associée à la liberté psychique du sujet, à la singularité de son caractère (un type fantasque). Dans la fantaisie tiendrait donc une part de l’identité du sujet, ce que le concept de fantasme en psychanalyse problématise. C’est pourquoi nous avons choisi d’associer ces deux termes dans l’intitulé du présent numéro, en y adjoignant celui de sémiotique, car une investigation sur le fantasme, comme on s’en rendra compte, a tôt fait de forcer une réflexion sur le signe. Quant à la formule « quand ego signe », elle voudrait signifier cette façon singulière qu’a le sujet de trouver ses points d’organisation hors lui, dans le langage et dans le fantasme qui le traversent et par rapport auxquels sa position, le signalant, le trahit également.
