Abstract
Ce chapitre présente l’objet et les aspects essentiels de la législation fédérale du Canada sur le lobbying. Il met en exergue les principales étapes de l’évolution des dispositions destinées à renforcer la transparence en imposant l’enregistrement des lobbyistes et l’établissement de rapports. Il rend compte également du cadre organisationnel et procédural ainsi que des mesures prises pour mettre en oeuvre la loi sur l’enregistrement des lobbyistes et le code de déontologie des lobbyistes et assurer leur respect. La fin du chapitre est plus spécialement consacrée aux principales dispositions de la nouvelle législation renforcée et aux attributions du Commissaire au lobbying chargé de l’application de la nouvelle loi sur le lobbying, entrée en vigueur le 2 juillet 2008.
