Abstract
This article considers the appearance of Cn. Tremelius Scrofa as the primary interlocutor in Varro's De Re Rustica. Instead of regarding Varros representation of his agronomical predecessor as straightforwardly historically accurate, there are good reasons to suppose that he depicts Scrofa with a mixture of veracity, parody, and polemic. Cet article se penche sur la représentation de Cn. Tremelius Scrofa comme principal interlocuteur dans le De Re Rustica de Varron. Au lieu de comprendre l'utilisation de Varron de son prédécesseur dans la science agricole comme historiquement précise, il y a de bonnes raisons de croire que la représentation de Scrofa est un mélange de véracité, de parodie et de polémique.
