Abstract
世界的に1990年代からインターネットとPCが急速に普及し始め,産業活動はもちろんのこと一般社会にもその活用が広がりつつある。そのひとつのビジネス形態が,電子商取引である。各国の政府機関等では,これらの情報技術(Information Technology: IT)を積極的に政策に取り込み,自国のIT政策として展開している。本稿では,最初にカナダのIT政策の経緯を述べ,その推進の主要機関であるカナダ産業省について述べる。次に,同国の特徴のひとつである通信インフラ機構であるCANARIE,さらにそれをベースにした教育システムと電子商取引について概観する。最後に,同国のIT政策で注目されているマルチメディア分野について述べる。
