Abstract
Dans cet article, nous abordons la question des pratiques et des perceptions relatives au choix de la langue d’enseignement dans l’approche par tâche , telles que rapportées dans un sondage administré à un groupe de 22 enseignants de français langue seconde (FLS) oeuvrant auprès d’immigrants adultes en voie d’intégration aux communautés francophones minoritaires au Canada, hors Québec. Dans ce contexte, la majorité des cours de FLS s’appuient sur le référentiel Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) (Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada, 2011). Celui-ci propose l’approche pédagogique par tâche qui tient compte des besoins des apprenants, de l’authenticité et du contexte d’intégration. Il suggère également de recourir uniquement au français en salle de classe. Les résultats de cette étude indiquent que les enseignants, tout en étant à l’aise avec la pédagogie par tâche des NCLC, peinent pourtant à concilier la réalité bilingue en dehors de la classe et l’exclusivité du français en salle de classe.
