Abstract
The X-Files s’inscrit parfaitement dans l’imaginaire social de son époque : une Amérique post-guerre froide où l’ennemi commun est diffus, pluriel et souvent issu de l’intérieur. Si les cultures autochtones, allochtones et migrantes peinent à cohabiter, il en va de même pour les régimes de savoir (science, pseudoscience, religions, folklores) qui informent leur vision du monde et s’hybrident. Dans cet article, il s’agit de voir comment les mythes locaux et importés se combinent dans le tissu narratif de la série et offrent une vision différente du melting pot américain et du territoire qui l’accueille.
