This article provides an equivalent and simplified time-domain water-to-wire model of a generic tidal turbine suitable for use in power system studies involving dynamic analysis. A previously developed detailed model is used as the frame of reference and benchmarking. Key model subsystems are elaborated upon, and validation against the detailed model is given. Discussions around initialization, and use in power system dynamic analysis tools are presented.
