Abstract
Face à la transformation de l’ordre international au cours de la dernière décennie, le Canada prévoit d’augmenter ses dépenses militaires. Néanmoins, l’approvisionnement de la défense demeure un défi lorsqu’il est question d’acquérir les capacités militaires permettant de répondre à ce nouvel environnement sécuritaire. À cet égard, comment cet environnement influence-t-il les projets d’acquisition majeurs de la défense ? L’article vise à retracer les facteurs expliquant l’approvisionnement de la défense à partir d’une approche mécanistique. Bien que l’environnement sécuritaire façonne l’élaboration des besoins, les projets d’avions de combat analysés sont également influencés par différentes considérations politiques au cours du processus d’approvisionnement et par les conditions du marché de la défense.
