Abstract
Abstract Kush.ne'ri.a. N.L. fem. n. Kushneria , from the name Kushner, honoring Dr. Donn J. Kushner, a Canadian microbiologist who carried out pioneering studies on halophilic microorganisms. The genus Kushneria is classified within the family Halomonadaceae and the order Oceanospirillales , in the class Gammaproteobacteria . The cells are Gram‐stain‐negative, motile, and non‐endospore‐forming rods. Colonies are orange, light orange, light salmon, or yellow pigmented. Chemoorganotrophic. Aerobic or facultatively anaerobic. Catalase‐positive and oxidase‐negative. Optimal growth at 0.5–12% (w/v) NaCl, at pH 7.0–9.0, and 25–37°C. The major respiratory quinone is ubiquinone 9 (Q9). The predominant cellular fatty acids are C 16:0 , C 18:1 ω7 c , C 19:0 cyclo ω 8c , and C 12:0 3‐OH. The polar lipids are phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, three unidentified phospholipids, two glycolipids, and an aminoglycolipid. The DNA G + C content is 59.0–64.1 mol%. Currently, the genus includes nine species: Kushneria aurantia (type species of the genus), Kushneria avicenniae , Kushneria endophytica , Kushneria indalinina , Kushneria konosiri , Kushneria marisflavi , Kushneria pakistanensis , Kushneria phyllosphaerae , and Kushneria sinocarnis . The strains of these species were isolated from halophyte plants, salterns and saline soils, marine habitats, and fermented food. DNA G + C content (mol%) : 59.0–64.1 ( T m /genome). Type species : Kushneria aurantia Sánchez‐Porro et al. 2009 VP . Taxonomic and Nomenclature Notes According to the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN), the taxonomic status of the genus Kushneria is: correct name (last update, February 2025) * . LPSN classification: Bacteria / Pseudomonadati / Pseudomonadota / Gammaproteobacteria / Oceanospirillales / Halomonadaceae / Kushneria The genus Kushneria can also be recovered in the Genome Taxonomy Database (GTDB) as g__Kushneria (version v220) ** . GTDB classification: d__Bacteria / p__Pseudomonadota / c__Gammaproteobacteria / o__Pseudomonadales / f__Halomonadaceae / g__Kushneria * Meier‐Kolthoff et al. ( 2022 ). Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
