Avant de débuter la restauration de la tour construite à la fin du xiie s., la Direction du Patrimoine a conduit une fouille archéologique du rez-de-chaussée, dans le but de compléter l’analyse architecturale du bâtiment et de reconnaître ses différents niveaux d’occupation entraperçus lors de sondages réalisés en 2010.
