Abstract

Depuis des décennies, le monde économique semble s’internationaliser – malgré un ralentissement dès avant la crise épidémique. Mais cela signifie-t-il qu’il se globalise ? Ne confond-on pas transnationalisation des firmes et uniformisation des pratiques, sociales comme managériales ? Est-ce qu’au niveau mondial le management tend vers des principes et des pratiques similaires ou persiste-t-il des différences nationales spécifiques ? Nous postulons ici que la question est finalement mal posée –et les articles de ce dossier spécial contribuent à cette mise en perspective de la question. D’abord, les organisations entremêlent de nombreux facteurs socio-culturels, et pas seulement les facteurs culturels nationaux. Masi surtout, les entreprises utilisent ces variabilités, tout en imitant les outils formels provenant d’autres entreprises, y compris à l’étranger. Elles doivent forcément adapter l’utilisation de ces outils pour tenir compte de tous les particularismes locaux (et pas seulement culturels), voire les maintenir, dans le cadre de leur recherche d’efficience. Les particularismes sont donc maintenus et utilisés dans le cadre de méthodes formelles qui, parfois, tendent à s’universaliser.
