O revestimento de manivas de mandioca com filmes de materiais biológicos nanoestruturas, tais como fungicidas e nutrientes ligados a polímeros, é uma estratégia adotada para melhorar a sua proteção conta o ataque de fungos e para aumentar a eficiência de germinação. No entanto, a eficácia da fixação desses filmes na superfície das manivas e o entendimento do seu processo de fixação é um desafio a ser superado, cuja solução é de grande importância econômica para o setor da mandiocultura.
