A partir da perspectiva da história dos intelectuais, discutimos a criação do Instituto Brasileiro de Filosofia (IBF), responsável pela publicação da Revista Brasileira de Filosofia (RBF), no contexto da História do Brasil republicano entre as ditaduras do Estado Novo e a Militar (1946-1964), e a contribuição de seu líder, Miguel Reale, para a elaboração do pensamento autocrático e pós-integralista. Neste novo momento, após sua ruptura com o integralismo, Reale liderou um novo tipo de organização de intelectuais que se ligava, internacionalmente, com os delineamentos do filósofo italiano Benedetto Croce e, em São Paulo, com a oligarquia daquele estado. Fazemos uma problematização teórica a partir de conceitos fundamentais formulados por Antonio Gramsci para a abordagem da história dos intelectuais, de modo a elucidar as articulações que são feitas entre as ditaduras pelos intelectuais de direita.
