Abstract
Buku ini berinci gambar dan denah bangunan dari pemukiman di pegunungan Sulawesi Tengah pada tahun 1918. Buku asli ditulis oleh seorang Swedia, diterjemahkan ke Bahasa Ingris dan dicetak 1925. Buku ini terjemahannya dalam basa Indonesia. Penulis mengkategorikan bangunan-bangunan pada orang Toraja Sulawesi Tengah atas 3 bentuk, pertama, Balai sakral (lobo) yang meliputi 7 tipe yakni tipe-tipe: Kulawi, Pipikoro, Mopahi, Lindu, Towulu, Bada-Besoa, Boku. Kedua, bangunan rumah tinggal yang meliputi 3 buah tipe, yakni tipe rumah Kulawi, tipe rumah Napu-Besoa-Koro dan tipe rumah Kaili-Sigi. Ketiga, Lumbung yang meliputi 2 tipe, yakni tipe gampiri, dan tipe paningku. Penulis menyebutkan bahwa perbedaan di antara ketiga bentuk bangunan tempat tinggal disebabkan oleh struktur bagian bawah rumah yang mempengaruhi bentuk bangunan atasnya. Untuk memastikan bahwa gambar-gambar tersedia dalam semua detail yang ada, dalam terjemahan ini hyperlink disediakan ke arsip foto daring dari foto-foto asli di Swedia; dan untuk versi denah lantai yang lebih besar.
