Abstract
Au cours des dernières décennies, l’engagement social au Québec a été influencé par l’avancement dans la modernité, l’évolution des problèmes sociaux, l’intervention de l’État social, certains phénomènes démographiques, la transformation des lieux de socialisation, et les actions collectives menées ailleurs dans le monde. Fortement marqué par l’individualité, l’engagement social gagne en éphémérité, alors que se perd le sens du devoir et de l’obligation. Enfin, si les formes de l’implication citoyenne changent, celle-ci n’est pas moins présente qu’auparavant, notamment à l’égard de l’orientation à privilégier pour le développement de la société québécoise.
