Abstract
Nation minoritaire au sein du Canada, le Québec a rapidement pris ses distances par rapport à la politique du multiculturalisme, perçue comme un risque pour le maintien de son identité collective. Il a conçu son propre modèle d’intégration, l’inter-culturalisme, fondé sur le respect réciproque de la culture majoritaire et de celle des minorités. Ce modèle mitoyen entre l’assimilation et le multiculturalisme représente une alternative prometteuse, dans un contexte international marqué par la crise des deux principaux paradigmes de l’intégration. La valorisation des échanges interculturels, la sensibilisation des minorités à l’existence d’une culture nationale majoritaire, et l’accommodement réciproque de la société à la présence de ces minorités, représentent les piliers de ce système d’intégration.
