Abstract
L’article se veut une présentation de concepts empruntés à la sociologie des mouvements sociaux et à la sociologie politique des problèmes publics appliqués à un fait social récent, la tuerie perpétrée le 14 février 2018 dans une école secondaire de la Floride. L’auteure revient brièvement sur les mouvements sociaux avant de présenter la sociologie politique des problèmes publics qu’elle illustre avec la construction, aux États-Unis, du problème public du contrôle des armes à feu. L’article poursuit avec la structure des opportunités politiques, qui permet de discuter des éléments en place pour une éventuelle mise en politique du problème en construction. Il se termine en proposant à la discussion les cinq opérations de la construction d’un problème public revues en tenant compte des bouleversements qui touchent actuellement l’espace public médiatique.
