Abstract
Après dix ans de débats à l’Assemblée nationale du Québec, la première loi canadienne sur la laïcité de l’État, a été votée le 16 juin 2019. Malgré son caractère historique, la presse écrite française s’est très peu emparée du sujet. Lorsqu’elle l’a fait, elle a associé cette loi à la loi sur l’immigration votée le même jour, jugé irrationnelles les craintes des défenseurs de la loi et considéré que les nouvelles dépositions légales étaient plus contraignantes que celles de la loi de 1905 en France.
