Les données sur la population masculine sur le plan de la santé mentale et physique rendent compte d’un nombre important de problèmes. Malheureusement, le délai entre le moment où ces informations sont recueillies et celui où elles font partie de l’agenda politique reste très important. Ainsi, il est troublant de constater que, quelles que soient l’intensité et la nature des problèmes ou de la crise, trop d’hommes ont tendance à la vivre seuls, sans aide. Les modèles explicatifs mettent l’accent sur les aspects socioculturels. Comprise de cette manière, la santé mentale et physique des hommes n’est plus seulement un problème d’individus, mais bien un problème de société. Il est donc impératif de revoir la façon dont sont déployés les services sociaux et de santé et de faire un pas vers la population masculine.
