Abstract
La réorganisation de la santé et sécurité du travail (SST) au cours des années 1980 a suscité un fort enthousiasme, qui s’est passablement effrité depuis. La SST apparait aussi dépassée par les transformations et peu présente dans l’espace public. Notre réflexion est organisée en trois temps. Une première section rappelle la séquence des modernisations entreprises au tournant des années 1960 : d’abord de l’État, puis en santé, et enfin en SST. Le Québec a alors rejoint le « monde », et les transformations qui depuis s’enclenchent sont semblables à ce qui est rapporté ailleurs. La deuxième section présente, les grandes clés des transformations organisationnelles, technologiques et idéologiques, en particulier les plateformes web, un marqueur fort, ainsi que la place prise par la dimension émotionnelle dans la vision et la gestion de la SST. Enfin, la troisième section revient au Québec et décrit plus spécifiquement le délitement des enjeux liés au travail et à la SST dans l’espace public, dans les institutions, dans les universités et de la SST elle-même en tant que champ de savoir. Pour terminer sur une note positive, des suggestions explorent des voies de traverse.
