Ce texte vise à présenter la base de données Manart, un outil à vocation participative et à large spectre qui a pour objectif de recenser les manifestes artistiques produits au XXe siècle dans tous les domaines de l’expression créative sans se limiter à un espace géographique précis. La mise sur pied de cette ressource est notamment le fruit d’une journée d’études interdisciplinaires ayant porté sur le manifeste artistique contemporain, organisée à l’École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS). En plus de susciter nombre d’interrogations, la base permet, par exemple, de mener des études statistiques et de dégager des pistes de réflexion susceptibles de conduire à une définition et à une analyse du genre manifestaire, tout en favorisant la collaboration.
