Dans le champ de la protection de l’enfance, le maintien des personnes mineures dans leur environnement familial amène les professionnel·le·s à travailler sous le double mandat de protection de l’enfance et soutien aux parents. Cet article interroge les types d’intervention auprès des familles en se fondant sur des observations menées à leur domicile pendant les visites de l’action éducative en milieu ouvert (AEMO) en Suisse romande. Il questionne les modalités de coopération entre les professionnel·le·s et les parents dans le cadre d’une mesure qui n’est pas toujours pleinement souhaitée de leur part. Cet article aborde également la question de la construction de la reconnaissance mutuelle des rôles comme une condition nécessaire de l’intervention sociale.
