Les densités de population du nématode doré, Globodera rostochiensis Ro1, ont été suivies en microparcelles cultivées annuellement en pomme de terre résistante (H1) sur une période de 5 ans sur deux sites expérimentaux.Chaque année, le nombre d'œufs viables a chuté en moyenne de 75 %.Pour l'instant, nous n'avons aucune indication que la résistance pourrait être contournée.Des cultures non hôtes telles que le millet perlé, le maïs et la moutarde brune occasionnent une baisse annuelle de 37 % des populations.La moutarde brune cv.Caliente enfouie comme un engrais vert n'a pas permis d'augmenter l'efficacité d'une culture non hôte.La technique de la culture-piège avec pomme de terre sensible récoltée de 5 à 6 sem après la plantation a permis de réduire le nombre d'œufs viables.Les cultures-pièges à haute densité de pomme de terre (250 000 plantes/ha) par rapport à la densité standard (30 000 plantes/ha) et récoltées après 5 sem n'ont pas permis d'augmenter le niveau d'efficacité d'une variété résistante à la densité standard.La morelle de Balbis, Solanum sisymbriifolium, une plante immune, n'a pas fourni une efficacité supérieure à une culture de pomme de terre résistante.Sous nos conditions climatiques, S. sisymbriifolium a démontré un taux d'établissement très faible et a été le plus souvent étouffé par les mauvaises herbes.
