En partant de sa méthode telle qu’explicitée dans Les conférences nationales en Afrique noire , des enjeux de celle-ci et des objets qu’il a privilégiés dans Terroirs. Revue des sciences sociales et de philosophie , qu’il a lui-même fondée au début des années 1990, cet article interroge la conception de la philosophie de Fabien Eboussi Boulaga. Il montre que, pour l’auteur de La crise du Muntu , qui s’est toujours méfié de la philosophie des professeurs, philosopher, c’est interroger, élucider ce qui se passe, le quotidien, pour en dégager le sens en évitant de faire intervenir des catégories venant d’une autre expérience. Puisque ce qui se passe nous affecte et nous définit, pour le philosophe, interroger et élucider ce qui se passe, c’est aussi interroger son propre être, sa propre existence.
