Abstract
Créée durant les années 1970, The Comics Journal est une revue d’actualités et de critiques de bandes dessinées états-uniennes. Si, à ses débuts, la revue offre un espace important aux comic books mainstream, c’est vers les productions d’éditeurs indépendants états-uniens que son contenu sera recentré au fil des ans. Dès ses débuts, le magazine laisse une place à certaines bandes dessinées non états-uniennes, mais reste principalement centré sur une production nationale. Dans cet article, nous étudions la place accordée à la bande dessinée non états-unienne dans les rubriques des « News » et des « Interviews » et son importance et son traitement par rapport à la place donnée à la bande dessinée produite aux États-Unis. Notre attention porte sur la façon dont la bande dessinée issue de différentes aires culturelles – européenne, canadienne, japonaise ou sud-américaine – est plus ou moins présente dans les pages de TCJ et sur la façon dont elle est traitée.
