Abstract
Collective thinking and stories of multispecies intra-activity are expressed more directly and innovatively in the collaborative space of A Brief History of Human Extinction (2018) by the Canadian playwright Jordan Hall and This World Made Itself (2013) and Infinitely Yours (2020) by the Los Angeles-based director and artist Miwa Matreyek in Chapter 5 . These provocative works of theatre and performance challenge audiences to think differently about the history of the earth, human relationships with nonhumans and matter, and environmental crises. Hall’s play – created in collaboration with Mind of a Snail puppet theatre – employs mixed media, science fiction, and speculative art to interrogate anthropocentric hierarchy. Matreyek combines the ecodramaturgical practices of collage animation, dance, musical elements, installation art, film, theatrical performance, and eco-activism. Her performance pieces integrate her own shadow into animated images of earth history, evolution, and environmental degradation, prompting viewers to reflect on the entanglement of their bodies with a damaged and damaging ecology. These plays and performances call for us to be in the present, stay with the trouble, and respond to this challenging situation through ongoing entanglements with other humans and nonhumans.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
