Abstract
Cette étude qualitative décrit les expériences vécues par des étudiants universitaires québécois (n = 18) dont les parents sont nés en Amérique latine, tout au long de leur parcours éducatif. L’analyse révèle l’existence d’une frontière entre ceux qu’ils nomment les Québécois francophones et les autres. Pour eux, cette frontière axée sur une différence linguistique — souvent attribuée à leur accent — les amène à ressentir de l’anxiété langagière et de la discrimination linguistique. Ils relatent que le système éducatif ne prendrait pas suffisamment en compte leurs difficultés. La conclusion identifie des pistes d’intervention valorisant le plurilinguisme pour favoriser leur inclusion.
