Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı, Kanada’nın Ontario eyaletinde bulunan Ottawa Üniversitesi ve Trabzon Üniversitesinin sınıf öğretmeni yetiştirme sistemlerini karşılaştırmaktır. Çalışma kapsamında nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden karşılaştırmalı araştırmalarda da kullanılan betimsel analiz yapılmıştır Araştırma kapsamında iki ülkenin sınıf öğretmeni yetiştirme programlarına giriş koşulları, program müfredatı, mezuniyet koşulları, mesleğe giriş koşulları ve mesleki gelişim uygulamaları arasındaki benzerlik ve farklılıklar karşılaştırılmıştır. Karşılaştırma yapılırken Ontario ve Türkiye'de uygulanan sınıf öğretmenliği programları, müfredatları ve karşılaştırmalı eğitim çalışmalarından yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda Türkiye’de sınıf öğretmenliği lisans programına giriş koşulu olarak merkezi sınav sonuçları alınırken Kanada’da lise not ortalaması ve özgeçmiş dosyası değerlendirmeye alınmaktadır. Öğretmenlik mesleğine girişte Türkiye’de merkezi sınav uygulanmakta iken Kanada’da 1 yıllık adaylık eğitiminin tamamlanması gerekmektedir.
