Abstract
(Anesth Analg. 2021;132:485–492) Transmural dispersion of myocardial repolarization (TDR) is the interval between the peak of the T wave and end of the TV wave (Tp-e). Increased TDR is a more reliable predictor of drug torsadogenicity than prolonged QT interval. Carbetocin, a synthetic analog of oxytocin, is used to prevent postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) following cesarean delivery (CD), though the effect dose varies. Carbetocin has been shown to increase mean correct QT, but there is a paucity of information on the effects of carbetocin of TDR. This study examined the effects of carbetocin dose on TDR in patients undergoing CD under spinal anesthesia.
