Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Significance While a majority of Canadians support the measures that Trudeau ultimately took to clear the protests, his handling of the situation saw a spike in his disapproval rating. Meanwhile, a revitalised Conversative Party is choosing a new leader amid hopes of winning the next election. Impacts If the Conservatives move further to the right, the party is likely to rally around a rejection of the Liberals' carbon pricing scheme. Trudeau may benefit personally from his leadership on Ukraine but inflation linked to higher fuel bills may hurt his party. Falling Liberal support may mean an opportunity for the left-leaning NDP, but it may not be strong enough to capitalise on. Conservatives hope to gain seats in Quebec from the Liberals at the next federal election, increasing their chances of a majority.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
