Abstract
Resumen: Las Primarias, Abiertas, Simultneas y Obligatorias (PASO) fueron sancionadas a nivel nacional en el ao 2009. Siguiendo a esta normativa, once provincias crearon leyes anlogas. Buenos Aires fue la primera de ellas. En el siguiente trabajo se realiza un anlisis de los efectos de la incorporacin de la Ley 14.086 de primarias obligatorias en el sistema de partidos bonaerense. Para ello se observa si los principales objetivos perseguidos por la ley fueron cumplidos y sus impactos en la eleccin general. Se estudia la competencia por los cargos legislativos y la gobernacin en el perodo 1983 -2019 y las PASO celebradas entre 2011 y 2019. Como conclusin del anlisis, se muestra que su incorporacin gener un efecto reductor de la competencia electoral, reduciendo la oferta y aumentando la concentracin electoral. Asimismo, a pesar ser pocos los partidos que presentaron ms de una lista en las primarias, los partidos y alianzas que compitieron con dos o ms listas internas en la primaria no tuvieron consecuencias negativas o positivas directas en los resultados de la eleccin general.
