繰り返し可能な光誘起絶縁体-金属転移をYOxHyエピタキシャル薄膜で見いだした。紫外レーザーの照射により電気抵抗の温度依存性が絶縁体的な振る舞いから金属的なものに変化した。Ar中で125℃でアニールすると絶縁体に戻り、紫外レーザーを照射すると再度金属的な状態に戻った。第一原理計算の結果、伝導は八面体サイトの水素の電荷状態の変化に起因することが示された。
