Au cours des dernières années, plusieurs recherches ont été menées à propos des représentations des enseignants d’histoire à propos de l’éducation à la citoyenneté ou des finalités de l’enseignement de l’histoire. Cette recherche s’inscrit dans le sillon de ces résultats et vise à identifier les facteurs qui peuvent influencer la formation de ces représentations, notamment la vision qu’ont les enseignants de la capacité de leurs élèves à développer des habiletés propres à la pensée historienne. Contrairement à d’autres études menées précédemment, notre enquête révèle un certain alignement entre les représentations des finalités de l’enseignement de l’histoire, les prescriptions ministérielles et la pratique.
