Abstract
Los Juegos Panamericanos es la última competencia del Ciclo Olímpico Tokio 2020, Cuba había mantenido la hegemonía de esta competencia hasta los Juegos Panamericanos de Toronto, Canadá 2015, cuando fue desplazada hasta el 4to lugar, superada en ese momento por Estados Unidos, Brasil y Canadá por ese orden. Cuba participa en los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima, Perú 2019 un año posterior de haberse desarrollado los Juegos Centroamericanos de Barranquilla, Colombia 2018, donde Cuba fue desplazada del 1er lugar que había mantenía desde Ciudad Panamá, Panamá 1970, en la edición de Barranquilla queda en 2do lugar, donde México ocupa el 1er lugar con una amplia ventaja sobre Cuba 99 medallas. El Balance negativo del resultado de algunos deportes no permitió mejorar el lugar que se había obtenido en la edición anterior. Deportes que disminuyen la cantidad de medallas de oro en relación Toronto 2015, Canotaje como, la Gimnasia, Levantamiento de Pesas, y Taekwondo.
