L'Europe se préoccupe de son patrimoine culturel universitaire depuis les années 1980. Durant ces dernières années, le continent européen a mis en œuvre des actions significatives qui comprennent la création d’organisations, de comités à caractère international, ainsi que la rédaction de recommandations et règlements. Plusieurs universités ont pris des initiatives dans le domaine de la conservation et de la valorisation, par exemple avec la création de nouveaux musées et de collections universitaires. Cuba a obtenu de bons résultats dans la gestion des centres historiques et des biens patrimoniaux de la nation. Mais il reste beaucoup à faire concernant la sauvegarde, par exemple du patrimoine culturel universitaire. L’objectif de ce texte est de proposer une méthodologie pour assurer la conservation et la valorisation des biens culturels mobiliers, applicable à l’Institut Supérieur Polytechnique José Antonio Echeverría, actuelle Université Technologique de La Havane. Cette méthodologie est basée sur des expériences européennes, en établissant une comparaison entre trois universités : l’Université de Padoue en Italie, l’Université Complutense de Madrid en Espagne et l’Institut Supérieur Technique de Lisbonne, au Portugal (pays membres du programme TPTI).
