Abstract
Dans Après le monde, Antoinette Rychner met en scène un futur post-apocalyptique imminent dans lequel les institutions patriarcales et les logiques d’exploitations de l’environnement auraient donné lieu à la catastrophe écologique et économique que promettent les structures capitalistes. Dans cet article, j’explore la manière dont Rychner fait de certains postulats écoféministes le moteur de la fiction (plus précisément, de la science-fiction post-apocalyptique) en mettant à profit et en renouvelant le concept écocritique de “carrier bag theory of fiction” proposé par l’autrice Ursula K. Le Guin. J’y montre que les épopées présentées par les bardesses comme le récit englobant de Rychner empruntent la forme du “carrier bag”, et comment cet emprunt arrive à resémiotiser l’espace (fictionnel, social, environnemental) afin que puisse s’y réinsérer l’expérience des protagonistes.
