Abstract
Cartographie, icônes, clichés et cinéma d’animation, les Amériques suscitent et ont suscité une abondante production d’images et de représentations, que ce numéro de la revue ILCEA prend pour objet d’étude. Faisant appel à des chercheurs de disciplines différentes, l’objectif est ici d’examiner les logiques matérielles et symboliques qui sous‑tendent le processus de représentation, et ce à une échelle hémisphérique. Canada, États‑Unis, Brésil, Cuba, Pérou : le numéro s’efforce en effet de considérer l’ensemble du continent pour tenter d’en dégager une logique éventuellement spécifique.
