Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Alarming rises in the prevalence of obesity are occurring in the United States, particularly among middle-aged and older adults. The present study examined the influence of chronic stress and negative marital quality on waist circumference among older married couples. A total of 2042 married individuals (in 1098 married couples) in the Health and Retirement Study completed psychosocial and waist circumference assessments in 2006 and 2010. Actor-partner interdependence models controlling for Wave 1 waist circumference revealed that partners' stress, rather than individuals' reports of stress, was associated with increased waist circumference over time for both husbands and wives. Higher perceived negative marital quality among husbands and lower negative marital quality among wives exacerbated the effects of partner stress on waist circumference. In conclusion, weight is influenced by the dyadic context and interventions should consider close others when attempting to influence weight.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
