Pendahuluan: Kecanduan smartphone merupakan masalah yangsering terjadi pada remaja awal. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui gambaran indikasi kecanduan smartphone pada remaja. Metodologi: Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP di Surabaya yang mempunyai smartphone. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan multistage random sampling pada sepuluh sekolah yang tersebar di masing-masing wilayah di Surabaya serta masing-masing wilayah diwakili satu sekolah swasta dan satu sekolah negeri. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian sebanyak 400 siswa. Pengukuran menggunakan Smartphone addiction Scale (SAS). Hasil: Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 400 siswa dengan 30.5 % laki-laki dan 69.5% perempuan. Sampel berusia antara 12-17 (mean, 14.03+ 0.813) tahun dengan persebaran 13% kelas tujuh, 65.8% kelas delapan dan 21.2% kelas Sembilan. Empat indikasi menunjukkan sebagian besar dalam kategori sedangyaitu gangguan aktivitas, antisipasi positif, penarikan dan orientasi cyberspace, sedangkan penggunaan berlebih dan toleransi sebagian besar dalam kategori ringan. Kesimpulan: Orientasi cyberspace menjadi indikasi paling terlihat karena smartphone dianggap bagian penting dalam kehidupan remaja. Sehingga meskipun penggunaan smartphone yang lama tidak dianggap berlebihan dalam penggunaannya. Identifikasi jenis kecanduan dan lama penggunaan smartphone perlu ditambahkan sebagai data tambahan
