Abstract
Liquid modernity describes the fluid – or liquid – conditions of late modern society, including the experience of perpetual change initiated by mechanisms such as privatization, individualization, and deregulation, when compared with the relative stability of modernity. Between freedom and uncertainty on the one hand, and the desire for order and rationality on the other, liquid modern life practice is characterized by the effort to exterminate the insecurity of the ambivalence brought by liquid modern conditions.
