Abstract
RésuméD’abord, il est précisé ce que l’on peut entendre par sémantique musicale, afin de la distinguer de la sémantique linguistique. Le classement des grandes familles de recherche sémantique en musicologie permet de préciser la place de la sémantique musicale en ethnomusicologie: le recours à des procédés substitutifs du langage; le renvoi indiciel au politico-social et à l’idéologique. L’article se termine par des observations critiques: l’établissement des signifiants pertinents et des signifiés qui leur sont reliés, le statut à accorder aux auteurs de la sémantisation et le rôle des contextes.
