Abstract Food (MIC: 4.1 SIC: 5812 NAIC: 722211) McDonald's primarily franchises and operates McDonald's restaurants. Co.'s business is managed as geographic segments: the U.S.; Europe; Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa; Latin America; and Canada. In addition, Co. also operates certain non‐McDonald's brands, which included The Boston Market and Chipotle Mexican Grill at Dec 31 2005. As of Dec 31 2005, Co. had a total of over 30,000 McDonald's restaurants in over 100 countries: of which more than 8,000 were company‐operated, above 18,000 were operated by franchisees/licensees, and over 4,000 were operated by affiliates.
