O estudo sobre a utilização de sistemas de apoio à decisão médica está se tornando cada vez mais freqüente. Neste trabalho, propõe-se o desenvolvimento de um sistema de auxílio ao diagnóstico na área de Pediatria, considerando características particulares observadas em recém-nascidos (RN) e lactentes, geralmente com quadros clínicos não específicos. Este estudo também se aplica a adolescentes. Um protótipo inicial foi implementado utilizando a tecnologia das redes neurais artificiais, em conjunto com o software Visual Basic da Microsoft.
